Poet Larry Beresford is a freelance medical journalist living in Oakland, Calif., with his wife, poet and writer Rose Mark, and their three-legged dog Maggie. He has received honorable mention in contests by the Berkeley Poetry Cooperative, Dancing Poetry and Benicia Love Poetry. He has published two books of poetry, Under a Gibbous Moon: The Adventures of Mister Funky (Broken Shadow Publications) and Family Poems (Redheaded Press). He is devoted to his grandsons, Osirus and O’Shea, and is well-known for his red beans and rice.
